In 2025 the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce held its tree lighting together with the Holmes Beach Holiday Open House at the Chamber office on Gulf Drive in Holmes Beach, on the first Saturday of December from 5 to 8 p.m.

Holmes Beach is the city the cottage is in, so this is the most local of the island's December events.
