About

The Florida Institute for Saltwater Heritage (FISH), a nonprofit, runs the Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival each February in the historic fishing village of Cortez, across the bridge from the south end of Anna Maria Island.

Recent festivals have featured live music, local seafood and juried art. FISH says festival profits fund the FISH Preserve, undeveloped coastal habitat along Sarasota Bay on the east side of the village.
